The Sovereign – Sculptural Artichoke Masterpiece
A true masterpiece.
Crafted from the largest central bud harvested this season, with an extraordinary flower diameter of 33cm, this exceptional artichoke took approximately 180 days to grow to full maturity before harvest. It was left to dry naturally on the land, completing its cycle in the open air, and then carefully cured indoors to preserve every intricate detail.
Initially cast in delicate layers of white cement to honour the organic form, the sculpture was then finished in a refined olive green tone and gently knocked back with dark wax to accentuate the remarkable textures and natural architecture of the bud.
Standing 76cm tall, the artichoke rises from a beautifully aged sleeper wood base — grounding the piece in warmth and history. A copper connector joins these two natural elements, subtly celebrating the meeting of earth-grown form and handcrafted artistry.
This is a once-off sculptural statement.
