The story of Africa is told through the fragrances themselves but also through the dramatic artwork that adorns our packaging. Each item we produce connects you to the natural landscape and the many cultures and emotions woven into it. As an environmentally and socially responsible company, we recognize that simply telling these stories is not enough. Our mission is to be a force for positive change in our immediate community and the wider continent by finding ways to give back to our original muse, Africa.

Cape Island Design (Pty) Ltd is a 100% female-owned, proudly South African manufacturer with a B/BBEE Status: Level 4. We produce a range of eco-luxe home fragrance products inspired by Africa, with a strong focus on ethical manufacturing and sourcing of sustainable raw material. Cape Island products are cruelty-free, environmentally friendly and aquatically safe. Through our Giving Back initiative, a percentage of proceeds from the sale of selected candles is donated to a group of local non-profit organizations doing the good work so needed Africa.

CAPE ISLAND prides itself on having a strong focus on high quality natural ingredients, micro-batch production and re-usable packaging. the full experience of each product allows you to escape to that piece of paradise. It’s important for people to know that we are African designed and that all our products are made right here on African soil. We source the finest fragrance oils in the world from leading perfumers in Europe and once they arrive in South Africa we use them to make our delicious hand-poured scented candles, fragrance diffusers, and our aquatic friendly, sulphate free soaps & lotions which are then, finally, distributed to boutique outlets and hotels across Southern Africa.
